After 30 years in the Alps exploring elemental forces; Martin has turned his attention to a more artistic means of expression. He paints with the same sensitivity to the powers of the universe that have allowed him to read the mountain environment.
His inspiration for painting are the environments that have shaped his life including the mountains in which he lives and the Swedish landscape of his youth. North American Indian traditions, eastern philosophy and the Canadian artists known as the ‘Group of Seven’ are some of the influences on his work. He has also had the privelege to work alongside guiding colleague and master painter Lionel Wibault.
Oil on board or canvas is his preferred medium but he also sketches in charcoal and watercolour.
Join Martin for three days of en plein air mountain painting in the Mont Blanc Massif or Loetschental area of Switzerland.
